It's Monday, What Are You Reading?

for hosting the weekly Link-up!

Finished this Week:

Paranomalcy (Bk #1) - Kiersten  White - 4.0/5.0
"Evie's always thought of herself as a normal teenager, even though she works for the International Paranormal Containment Agency, her ex-boyfriend is a faerie, and she's the only person who can see paranormals for what they really are."Borders

Mini-Shopaholic (Bk #6) - Sophie Kinsella  - 5.0/5.0
"In the first Shopaholic in three years, Becky Brandon (ne Bloomwood) is back, this time hilariously challenged by the mini-terror who is her two-year-old daughter, Minnie."
Borders

Happy Hour is for Amateurs - The Philadelphia Lawyer  - 4.0/5.0
"Meet the Philadelphia Lawyer--a man of two identities: by day a shrewd, successful attorney, by night an incorrigible escapist whose chemically induced, sex-fueled exploits provide the only outlet from the boredom and irritation of his job. In "Happy Hour Is for Amateurs," he offers a merciless, riotous take on his ten years as a modern professional--from the three-year bender known as law school to the mind-numbing toil of the office, to his drunken, debauched misadventures running from it. Unabashed and hilarious, his stories push the bounds of decency and provide a hysterical look at one paycheck slave who couldn't abide his cage."Borders

Reading this Week:

Room - Emma Donoghue - I have both dread and excitement for this book. I feel like it's going to take an emotional toll on me!

Everything I Never Wanted to Be - Dina Kucera - I LOVE this book. It combines some of my favorite topics - humor and addiction. I'll be reviewing this one on Wednesday for Pump Up Your Book Tours. Go add it to your TBR list...RIGHT NOW! So good!

The Knife of Never Letting Go (Chaos Walking #1) - Patrick Ness - Yay for more dystopian books!

The Customer is Always Wrong  - Jeff Martin - This just sounds amazingly funny. Can't wait to read it!

I'm stuck on:

Beautiful Creatures (Bk #1) (Week 3) - Go ahead, stone me. I just am not that into it. I think I might be the ONLY person in the whole blogging universe that isn't completely in love with this book. Maybe it just didn't live up to the hype?

Identical (Week 10) -  Whenever I get a spare moment I WILL finish this book. I have review books, library books, tour books...you know the drill!

Under the Dome (Week 28) - Once again, I suck. Everyone who's finished this, I admire you.

Now that I have sort of settled into my new SAHM routine. I think I've figured how to fit blogging and reading in there. I'm trying to get back to my daily posting! Have a great week everyone! Happy Reading!

  1. Looking forward to seeing how you like Room. I've heard all good things...I should get into that one, too :) Hope you'll pull through with Under the Dome--it's definitely a book hog :D

  2. Under the Dome is a huge book. It's going to take me a long time too once I get it started.

Not listed in my post are the ton and a half of peer reviewed journal articles I read. It was otherwise a good mixture of books this week. Here's what I'm reading this week.

  5. Paranormalcy is a book that I'm buying for my Not-So-Bebe Girl Autumn's Christmas book box - when she gets done, I get to read it!

You'll like Room, I think. It takes a bit of an adjustment to get into Jack's voice, but after that, it's pretty involving and will leave you thinking about it long after you close the pages.

Beautiful Creatures is also on my list for the Christmas book box.

I read and reviewed Under the Dome last month - if not for putting it on my Scared Sh*tless Challenge list, even though I'm a King fan, it might have languished due to it's sheer size, but it was really good!

  6. Room is SO good! A little rollercoasterey, but not too bad since it's told from Jack's POV. I've heard great things about Knife too! Enjoy!
