Giveaway and Author Interview with Anna Carey

Today I have the lovely Anna Carey here, author of the Eve trilogy! She so kindly agreed to answer a few questions for me!

Describe Eve (the character) in 7 words or less.
Torn between fear and love.

Give us a synopsis of the book in Tweet format! (140 characters or less)
Eve's whole life is in School—no men, she must fear them. Then she realizes: Teachers lied. She flees, meets boy. Could this be “love”?

Wow! I'm impressed, I don't think I could have summed up Eve that easily!
Tell us 4 random facts about yourself!
-I’ve lived in New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Florence.
-My nickname growing up was “Enoch” after the “Enoch Pratt Free Libraries” in Baltimore (where my mom’s family is from). I used to hate it, but now I think it’s hilarious…and fitting for someone who writes books.
-My middle name is Marysia, which is Polish for Mary
-I played with Barbies until I was fourteen (I know, I know! Wave your freak flag high, right?)

I played with Barbies a lot longer than I probably should have too, no shame! What's your favorite YA book you've read so far this year?
I finally read If I Stay by Gayle Forman. I was really touched by the ending. A book hasn’t made me cry like that in a long time.

I finally got around to reading If I Stay this year, as well! It was such a tearjerker. I was sobbing too! So, what upcoming projects are you working on?
I’ve just finished the second Eve novel. I’m taking a quick breather, then I’ll start outlining the third in the trilogy. I’ll be sad to say good-bye to these characters.

Thanks for stopping by today, Anna! I can't wait to find out what happens to Eve in the sequel!

About the Book: The year is 2032, sixteen years after a deadly virus—and the vaccine intended to protect against it—wiped out most of the earth’s population. The night before eighteen-year-old Eve’s graduation from her all-girls school she discovers what really happens to new graduates, and the horrifying fate that awaits her.

Fleeing the only home she’s ever known, Eve sets off on a long, treacherous journey, searching for a place she can survive. Along the way she encounters Caleb, a rough, rebellious boy living in the wild. Separated from men her whole life, Eve has been taught to fear them, but Caleb slowly wins her trust...and her heart. He promises to protect her, but when soldiers begin hunting them, Eve must choose between true love and her life.

  1. I am so looking forward to this book. :)

I had Barbie;s - but I didn't really play with them. I liked to fix their hair and change their clothes, then leave them sitting nice and pretty.

Then my younger sister decided to cut their hair - or to pull the heads off and switch bodies. I was devastated. :(
